Antoine Roney (reeds) New York, NY

Born April 1st, 1963, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Antoine Roney was raised in a highly musical family; his grandfather, who played several instruments professionally, was a member of the Frankie Fairfax band. Roney began on the clarinet, then studied the alto and tenor saxophones with Jackie McLean at the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. His early professional engagements included work with McLean, Donald Byrd and Clifford Jordan.
